A CHIC LITTLE GIRL'S ROOM
greige décor for a little princess
When we were renovating our house my daughter’s room needed to be ripped out to allow for some structural changes in the kitchen below. There is nothing I love more than decorating children’s rooms so I delighted by the fact that I got the chance redesign my daughter, Milla’s, room. The timing worked out great and when the building works were finishing up it was time to move on from our beloved cot bed into a single bed in Milla’s Big Girl Room. I knew this time around the design concept for the room had to be able to grow with Milla because I am not planning of redecorating her room anytime soon.
I searched awhile for the perfect wallpaper and when I found the Stars Wallpaper from the Danish company Tapet Café I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I matched the star accent wallpaper with a pretty shade of grey for the rest of the walls and kept all of the furniture cream or white. This keeps the look really neutral and does not compete with all the colourful toys and books in the room. The best find in the room for me is the chic little buttoned chair that I found from Zara Home!
Of course it is nearly impossible for a 3-year-old girl not to run into her bedroom demanding there to be some pink! The faux fur rug from Pilepoil and pink Jonathan Adler cushion were the perfect little accents of colour.
